State Sen. Bob Beers filed his initiative petition Monday to limit government spending and its passage could have a more dramatic impact on Nevada politics than any other election in Campaign '06 -- including the one for governor, the office Beers is seeking. The first debate on the topic comes Thursday, sponsored by the gamers and their friends, and hosted by Station Casinos. That pits Beers against consultant Terry Murphy. That ought to be fun, especially since the sponsors are against the proposition.
